WORKING WITH SHENMUE’s COREY MARSHALL: THE NEW VOICE OF GATES
WORKING WITH SHEN MU’s COREY MARSHALL:
I am in the process of producing a new trailer for Gates as well as other video based goodies which I will show in due time. But I really wanted to find the voice of Gates–who you will start to get to know very well in Chapter 2.
Gates is an adult now.
I needed a voice.
The right voice.
AND I FOUND IT! And his name is COREY MARSHALL.
Corey is a veteran actor and stuntman from Los Angeles who is most famous for playing monsters in horror movies as being the voice of the lead character Ryo, in the game Shenmue.
Shenmue is a HUGE cult classic game. This was a Dreamcast video game developed by SEGA in 1999. It cost over $20 million to develop and is the most expensive Video Game ever created. This cutting edge project took seven years to complete by Sega’s game-development team. And for this economical fact as of right now, Shenmue has a place in the Guiness Book of World Records. Marshall’s character Ryo, is a respected Japanese student that sees his father killed in front of his own eyes. He sets out to find the man in charge of his fathers death and the mystery of who and why?
And Corey’s voice rocks. It sounded perfect! It’s Gates! Perfectly! It’s Gates’ ancestors…it’s just amazing!
Below is Corey’s first video he did for the franchise.
And he’s now the voice of Gates in the new story trailer we are working on, which encompasses a lot of cool upcoming scenes. It’s in development right now and should be done in the next month and will release with the launch of the soundtrack.
This video is a commercial for the ConGenement–as they exist today in modern times.
