For those of you who have been following along with the story to Gates, the webcomic, written and illustrated by me (Hal Hefner), you’ll notice that it deals with some interesting topics. Now they aren’t your everyday topics as it might seem on the surface—but in reality they are. They are real and they are right in the public eye but many people just don’t know they are here.
Let me explain.
It is common knowledge that the world at large is foundationally built on a series of mythologies. They come in various tales from around the world that differ in some ways but share similarities in many. Greek, Egyptian, Sumerian, Hindu, Native American, Christian, Muslim and oh so many more mythologies—have ALL had, and continue to have an influence on human civilization. In addition to religious mythologies there are also sociological mythologies which I consider the modern myth. These myths are not told around the campfire anymore but instead the theater and home entertainment system. They are now movies like Star Wars, The Matrix, Blade Runner, Alien, Planet of the Apes and more. They deal with heroes in search of their destiny and villains who stand in their way just like any good mythological religious tale.
As I mentioned earlier, modern myths are not told around a campfire anymore BUT there are still stories passed along that don’t quite hit the “pop culture” scene. Many people call these “conspiracy theories” and instead of the campfire we use the internet. UFO’s, Satan, Chemtrails, 9/11, the Occult, Bigfoot, the New Word Order, The Illuminati, Vril and on and on…
I have weaved some of these ideas like Vril, into Gates, my webcomic. The reason for doing this is because I am a big fan of exploring the unknown and questioning the world as a whole. Call me crazy but I believe the greatest intellectual thing we can do as human beings is try and search for the reason for our existence and the source of our creation, using facts, experience and an acceptance of the unknown.
So when I find conspiracy theories that ring true, it scares me a little. Anyone who follows me on Twitter or Facebook knows that I can go off on some rants about politics, religion and more—but it’s because I’m a humanist and I care about people getting screwed, hosed, or to put it bluntly—FUCKED!
And I found a hell of a myth—but it’s not really a myth. It’s really in your face, 100% there for people to read in plain daylight.
Back in the amazing year of 1997 (also the year I originally conceived of the idea for Gates), A project was created by members of the United States Government that is clearly something one best described by Aldous Huxley in Brave New World and in 1984. Welcome everyone to the Project for a New American Century!
Now before I go any further I would like to reiterate that Project for a NewAmerican Century is 100% real. This is not a myth. And you can go to theirwebsite and see for yourself. The PNAC’s first public act was unveiling a “Statement of Principles” (which you can read on their website) on June3, 1997, which was signed by both its members and a assortment of other prominent conservative politicians and journalists.
The PNAC was co-founded as a non-profit educational organization by neoconservatives William Kristol and Robert Kagan. The PNAC’s stated goal was “to promote American global leadership.” Now what does that mean you might ask…Well good question, so let’s discuss further. Fundamental to the PNAC were the views that “American leadership is both good for America and good for the world.” And it states this on their website. Now what does that mean you might ask…Well good question, so let’s discuss further. It also states the support for “a Reaganite policy of military strength and moral clarity.”
So let’s stop and think…
1.American global leadership,
2.that is good for America and good for the world
3.backed by a Reaganite (meaning Ronald Reagan like) policy of military strength and moral clarity.
NO! I didn’t take this from a science fiction novel. This is real. See for yourself. You can look at their entire statement of principles and EVERY document they EVER published. So what this document and organization said was that America should use the military strength it has to share our moral values and good ‘ol American knowhow with the world. Sounds like a front for world domination to me I don’t know about you. It may be packaged up a little different grammatically but that’s what it says.
So enter the 2000’s. And the PNAC exerted influence on high-level U.S. Government officials in the administration of U.S. President George W. Bush and affected the Bush Administration’s development of military and foreign policies, especially involving national security and the Iraq War and the occupation of Afghanistan. THEN In September 2000, the PNAC published a controversial 90-page report entitled Rebuilding America’s Defenses: Strategies, Forces, and Resources For a New Century. The report, which lists as Project Chairmen Donald Kagan and Gary Schmitt and as Principal Author Thomas Donnelly, quotes from the PNAC’s June 1997 “Statement of Principles” and proceeds “from the belief that America should seek to preserve and extend its position of global leadership by maintaining the preeminence of U.S. military forces.
Can someone scream “INVASION! IT’s OKAY TO INVADE A COUNTRY IN THE NAME OF AMAERICA AND AMERICA’s MORALS”
A select group of individuals decided that it was okay to invade another country to spread our fundamentals to clearly gain economic and word power. Now to me this sounds EVIL. It sounds like a greedy, compassion-less organization that holds an immoral belief system much like that of what we would have fought AGAINST in years past. We ave become what we used to protect others from. A bully. A punk. A plague attempting to overtake the world with the diseases of American morality. These days, it is also very unclear who or what defines morality.
And just so you’re clear, here are the name of some of the PNAC’s most prolific signatures attached to “the Statement of Principles.” That claim to be in the know about how our world should be transformed.
Elliott Abrams
Gary Bauer
William J. Bennett
John Ellis “Jeb” Bush

And again, I am not making this up. This is 100% real. Many believe that the it was the sole influence of the PNAC on the decision by President George W. Bush to invade Iraq. Some have regarded the PNAC’s January 16, 1998 letter to President Clinton, which urged him to embrace a plan for “the removal of Saddam Hussein’s regime from power,”[and the large number of members of PNAC appointed to the Bush administration as evidence that the 2003 invasion of Iraq was a foregone conclusion. The television program Frontline, broadcast on PBS, presented the PNAC's letter to President Clinton as a notable event in the lead up to the Iraq war. Media commentators have found it significant that signatories to the PNAC's January 16, 1998 letter to President Clinton (and some of its other position papers, letters, and reports) included such later Bush administration officials as Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, John Bolton, Richard Armitage, and Elliott Abrams.
I could go on for days about the information I have to play with here including facts about 9/11. It just boggles my mind at the diabolical plan that NOBODY discusses.
AND is still in play today right in front of your eyes.
HOW DOES THIS PLAY INTO GATES THE COMIC?
Well, just imagine if this plan of their succeeds?
Imagine if technology and science formed their own "moral value system" and decided that it was "good for all" and imposed this thinking and way of life on society?
Well then welcome to the ConGenement!
The ConGenement are a religiously strong totalitarian government. They rule with an oppressive, iron fist, controlling every action of its populace and dulling them with propaganda, work and medication. Human culture is void of passion, creativity, and love. The only thing that the humans are trained to love is the ConGenement. They thrive on a moral system that is the bastard child of science and religion.
So let’s stop and think...again
1. ConGenement global leadership,
2.that is good for the ConGenement and good for the world
3.backed by a Reaganite (meaning Ronald Reagan like) policy of military strength and moral clarity.
Get the picture?
